The young king of Cantabrigian soulful drum & bass is most certainly alive and well in the form of Hugh Hardie. Initially coming to prominence on Hospital Records, we’re over the moon to welcome Hugh to our growing roster here at Soulvent. With two critically acclaimed albums already under his belt, alongside a string of strong EPs, we proudly present Hugh’s first direct outing on our imprint. ‘Blush’ is a phenomenally beautiful piece of music, led by a wonderful cascading piano part and a familiar accomplished touch proving that less is more.
‘Blush’ opens with a luscious emotive piano progression, which is complemented by Zara Kershaw’s stunning vocal tones and effortless harmonies. The snappy drums complement the harmony perfectly, while the subtle progression and interplay between the keys and Zara’s stunning, delicate voice bring everything together like honey in the ear.
